Men’s Tennis’ Biondi, Paterno Named ITA Scholar-Athletes
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team's Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) have been tabbed as Scholar-Athletes by the International Tennis Association (ITA), announced the organization Thursday.
Biondi, a junior international business major, has attained ITA Scholar-Athlete status in each of the past three years. Paterno, a senior business management major, picked up his first ITA Scholar-Athlete accolade.
More than 4,200 scholar-athletes were recognized across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
