Tolmachev, Partyka Earn CCC Men’s Tennis Weekly Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Vladislav Tolmachev (Perm, Russia) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week and Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) garnered Rookie of the Week accolades, as announced by the league office Monday.
Tolmachev picks up his first Player of the Week honor while Partyka was selected as the Rookie of the Week for the third time this year.
Tolmachev and Partyka each posted three singles wins on the week and teamed up to notch three doubles victories as the Lions rattled off three 9-0 wins in a row. Eastern Nazarene ran its winning-streak to five matches with victories over Becker, Wentworth and Salve Regina.
Tolmachev improved to a team-best 12-6 in singles action, playing primarily at the No. 2 singles position. The sophomore has prevailed in four singles matches in a row.
Partyka improved to 11-3 on the season in singles play at the top spot and has won his last five matches.
As a doubles team, Partyka and Tolmachev have won six consecutive matches and sport an 11-2 record on the year at the No. 1 slot.
Eastern Nazarene owns a 12-6 record on the year with a 4-2 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference heading into the final week of the regular season. The Lions will visit Endicott and Nichols to close out the regular season.
