Men’s Tennis Sweeps Wentworth on Senior Day
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team ran its winning-streak to four matches with a 9-0 victory over Wentworth Wednesday in the final home match of the regular season.
The Lions escalate to 11-6 on the season and 3-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Leopards fall to 4-8 overall and 1-6 in league play.
Alex Partyka (Moscow, Russia) and Vladislav Tolmachev (Perm, Russia) improved to 10-2 on the year with an 8-0 win at the No. 1 doubles position over Josh Dowd and James Drum.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) edged Zach Peter and Seng Ly 8-6 at the second spot.
Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Yahalel Carter (Chicago, Ill.) posted an 8-6 victory at the No. 3 slot over James Thomas and Mike Withington.
Partyka prevailed 6-1, 6-2 over Drum at the top spot and Tolmachev cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position over Ly.
Paterno notched a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the third slot in his final collegiate regular-season home match.
Biondi topped Dowd 6-1, 6-3 at the fourth spot while Campbell coasted past Withington 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 5 position.
Brandon Jenkins (Norwood, Mass.) earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the No. 6 slot to cap off the sweep.
