Men’s Tennis Competes at Stonehill Doubles Invitational Saturday
EASTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team took part in the Stonehill Doubles Invitational Saturday to kick off the 2015-16 season.
The Lions placed fourth in the overall competition while Connecticut College captured the team title. Stonehill and Holy Cross finished in second and third place, respectively.
Shaw Campbell (Reading, Calif.) and Davis Steelman (Darlington, Md.) represented Eastern Nazarene in the "A" doubles bracket. The duo fell to Jonathan Kraiger and Ben Sachs from Connecticut College, Henry Harris and Michael Varda of Holy Cross and Stonehill's Thomas Bello and Tom Buckley.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) competed in the "B" doubles flight. The tandem dropped decisions to Connecticut College's Ethan Kecker and Will Cannon, Pat O'Shea and Charlie Volkwein from Holy Cross and Nikolay Lisichenok and Dimitri Vlassov of Stonehill.
In the "C" doubles bracket, Yahalel Carter (Chicago, Ill.) and Stephen Crooks (Collegeville, Pa.) absorbed three losses. Carter and Crooks fell to Patrick Farrell and Charlie Williams from Connecticut College, Elmar Lutz and Ming Lao of Holy Cross and Stonehill's Philip Klados and Gerard Tierney.
