Men’s Tennis Doubles Up Division II Daemen, 6-3
TAMPA, Fla.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team topped NCAA Division II team Daemen in Tampa, Florida Tuesday. The Lions outlasted the Wildcats to earn a 6-3 victory in a match that spanned five hours.

Eastern Nazarene captured a pair of doubles victories to grab a 2-1 edge in the match score.
Vladislav Tolmachev (Perm, Russia) and Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) posted an 8-3 victory over Adam Kerr and Joey Gentile at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Andres Biondi (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Davis Steelman (Darlington, Md.) collected an 8-4 win over Mark Veitenburger and Alex White at the second position.
Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) suffered an 8-5 setback at the third doubles slot.
The Lions prevailed in four of the six singles matches to lock up their first win in the Sunshine State.
Tolmachev topped Veitenburger 6-3, 6-0 at the top singles position. McKay-Corkum defeated Gentile 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot.
Paterno edged John LeMar 7-6. 7-6 at the third singles slot and Perron notched a 6-1, 7-6 win over Roberto Zambrano in the No. 6 singles match.
At the fifth singles position, Steelman dropped a three-set decision to Ethan Wincowski. Steelman claimed the opening set 6-3 before Wincowski rallied to capture the second and third sets 6-4, 6-3.
Biondi narrowly fell to Kerr at the fourth singles spot 7-5, 7-5.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will square off against Bay State foe Stonehill in Tampa, Florida March 11.
