McKay-Corkum, Perron Earn All-CCC Men’s Tennis Accolades
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Juniors Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene men's tennis team each claimed All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors, as announced by the league office Saturday.
McKay-Corkum was named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference first team in singles. The duo combined to garner a spot on the All-CCC second team in doubles.
This marks McKay-Corkum's second All-CCC honors in singles and doubles. He earned second team accolades in singles and honorable mention in doubles last season.
McKay-Corkum boasts an 8-9 overall record in singles action this season with a 6-2 mark in conference matches. The junior split time between the top two singles positions for the Lions.
The tandem of McKay-Corkum and Perron posted a 4-2 record on the year, playing primarily at the No. 1 spot. The pair owned a 3-1 record against league opponents this spring.
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with an 8-9 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
The Lions reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. Eastern Nazarene earned the No. 4 seed in the playoffs to secure a home quarterfinal match for the third straight year.
The Lions will battle fifth-seeded Western New England in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament April 28.
