Steelman Nabs CCC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Senior Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) of the Eastern Nazarene men’s tennis team has been selected as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.

This marks his second career CCC Player of the Week distinction after picking up the honor once last season.
Steelman posted a 4-0 record on the week as he helped lead the Lions to a pair of victories.
Steelman partnered with Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) at the No. 1 doubles position to pick up a pair of wins. In Eastern Nazarene's 7-2 victory at Western New England, the Lions' top tandem notched an 8-5 win. Steelman and Thompson cruised to an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 slot as Eastern Nazarene downed Wentworth in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament.
Steelman registered a 6-2, 6-2 win at the top singles spot at Western New England and rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 decision at the first singles position against the Leopards.
Steelman earned a pair of All-Commonwealth Coast Conference nods last week. He was selected to the All-CCC first team in singles play and teamed with Thompson to pick up second team doubles accolades.
Steelman was honored by the Commonwealth Coast Conference as the Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A physics and history double major, he boasts a 4.0 grade-point average and was recently accepted to the highly-prestigious Harvard Law School.
Steelman currently owns a 12-5 record in singles action and a 9-8 mark in doubles matches on the year.
Eastern Nazarene sports an 11-7 record on the season and finished the regular-season slate with a 6-2 league mark. The Lions earned the No. 3 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. After defeating sixth-seeded Wentworth April 27, Eastern Nazarene advanced on to battle second-seeded Nichols in the semifinals May 1 at Assumption College at 3 pm.
