Men’s Tennis Eases Past Emerson, 8-1
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene men’s tennis team cruised to an 8-1 non-league victory over Emerson Wednesday afternoon at the ENC Tennis Courts.

The ENC Lions improve to 7-4 as they post their fourth-straight win. The Emerson Lions fall to 5-1 on the year after suffering their first defeat of the spring.
Eastern Nazarene swept the three doubles matches before claiming wins in five of six singles matches.
Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) prevailed 8-2 at the No. 1 doubles position. Tim Luz (Cumberland, R.I.) and Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) topped Emerson's Brett Walkoff and Mitchell Lance 8-3 at the No. 2 spot. Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) posted an 8-4 victory at the third slot.
Steelman picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at the top singles spot. McKay-Corkum prevailed 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 slot while Luz claimed a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the third position. Paterno notched a 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 4 slot and Perron downed Emerson's Vincent Castellini 6-4, 6-3 at the fifth position.
Gregory Parenteau (Wolcott, Conn.) endured a three-set loss at the No. 6 spot. Parenteau dropped the first set 6-2 and leveled the match with a 6-4 win in the second frame. Emerson's Zach Connolly triumphed 10-3 in a third-set tie-breaker.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Nichols April 6 in a battle of two unbeaten teams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
