Men’s Tennis Notches 7-2 Win at Wentworth

The Lions rise to 6-4 on the season and remain unbeaten in the Commonwealth Coast Conference at 3-0. The Leopards sink to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in league matches.
Wentworth claimed a pair of victories in doubles action to hang on to a 2-1 lead at the start of singles play.
Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Tim Luz (Cumberland, R.I.) posted Eastern Nazarene's lone doubles win, prevailing at the No. 2 position 8-4.
Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) were edged 9-8 at the top doubles slot. Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) fell 8-5 at the third spot.
The Lions rallied in singles play, sweeping the six matches, to secure their third conference win of the spring.
Steelman claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win at the No. 1 position over Wentworth's Juan Rodriguez. McKay-Corkum posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the second spot while Luz earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 slot.
Paterno picked up a 6-3, 6-1 decision at the No. 4 spot and Perron captured a 6-2, 6-0 win at the fifth position. Thompson capped off the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the sixth singles match.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to the courts April 3 to host Emerson in a non-conference bout.
