The result drops the Lions to 3-4 on the year while the Skyhawks improve to 10-2 overall.
In doubles action, Eastern Nazarene's top tandem of Austin Steelman (Darlington, Md.) and Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) dropped an 8-5 decision to Stonehill's Eric Ringstad and Chris Martin. Sam McKay-Corkum (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Tim Luz (Cumberland, R.I.) fell 8-0 at the second doubles spot. Tyler Perron (Plympton, Mass.) and Kevin Paterno (Buenos Aires, Argentina) suffered an 8-1 setback at the third slot.
Steelman endured a 6-3, 6-3 loss at the top singles position while McKay-Corkum dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision at the second slot. Stonehill's Philip Klados topped Luz at the No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-2.
The hosts prevailed in straight sets at the fourth, fifth and sixth positions to claim their sixth-straight victory at home this season.
