BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team returned to the win-column with a 1-0 victory at Emerson Monday evening.
Eastern Nazarene climbs to 4-4-0 on the year with the win while Emerson drops to 2-5-1 overall.
The two sides wrestled to a scoreless first half with the visitors holding a 7-2 advantage in shot attempts and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks earned.
Eastern Nazarene tallied the match's lone goal in the early moments of the second stanza. Denser Martinez (Cumberland, R.I.) netted his second marker of the fall in the 47th minute to give the guests a 1-0 lead. The senior knocked in a rebound after Sheelens Ostine (Quincy, Mass.) hit the left post.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with 12 shots while Emerson managed five attempts.
Senior netminder Tyler Ferreira (Berkley, Mass.) made two saves to collect his first clean sheet of the year in his fourth start.
