Cawthorne Collects NECC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week Accolades

QUINCY, Mass.- Matthew Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team has been tabbed the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, announced the league office Monday.

Cawthorne netted his second goal of the season to help the Lions cap off the regular season with a 4-1 victory at Southern Vermont to lock up a NECC Tournament first-round match.

Eastern Nazarene owns a 6-9-3 overall record and finished the regular season with a 4-2-2 mark in conference action to grab the No. 3 seed in the NECC Tournament. The Lions will face sixth-seeded Lesley Tuesday, October 30 in the NECC Tournament first round.
