BROOKLINE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team battled Pine Manor to a 1-1 draw Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Lions move to 5-9-3 on the year with the result, the most ties in a single season since 1972. The Gators progress to 9-3-3 overall with the outcome.
The home team bagged an early goal to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Andree Hernandez netted his fourth goal of the season in the eighth minute, burying a feed from Alfredo Lucero.
The visitors benefitted from an own goal to pull even at 1-1 in the 21st minute.
Eastern Nazarene fired four shots in the first half while Pine Manor also produced four attempts.
After 90 minutes of action, the two teams were level at 1-1.
The Lions managed 16 shots and the Gators generated eight attempts in regulation.
Neither squad found the back of the net in the two overtime periods as both teams earned their third ties of the season.
Eastern Nazarene finished with 20 shots on the day while Pine Manor recorded 12.
Matthew Cawthorne (Norwell, Mass.) and Sunil Lepcha (Charlotte, N.C.) paced the guests with three shots each.
Rookie Tyler Ferreira (Berkley, Mass.) registered a pair of saves in his first collegiate start between the pipes. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) took over in net at the start of the second stanza stopped the only shot he faced in 65 minutes of action in his first appearance of the fall.
