QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team endured a 3-0 loss to Gordon Wednesday evening at Veterans' Memorial Stadium.
The Lions fall to 0-14-0 on the season and 0-7-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the result. The Fighting Scots improve to 10-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in league action with the win.
Gordon jumped ahead 1-0 in the 38th minute. Collin Surface headed in his first goal of the season off of a cross by Ricardo Infantozzi.
The Fighting Scots pushed their lead to 2-0 just one minute later as Matt Chartier drilled a long-distance shot into the back of the cage to notch his second tally of the year.
The visitors held a 2-0 advantage at the midway point of the match after outshooting the home side 15-4 through 45 minutes of play.
Gordon chalked up its third goal of the contest in the 67th minute. Josh Cochran converted a penalty kick to collect his team-leading fifth marker of the season.
The Lions finished the contest with four shots while the Fighting Scots fired 23 shots on the night.
Sophomore Victor Mendoza (Cathedral, Calif.) recorded five saves in his eighth start of the fall.
