Men’s Soccer to Host “Night of Nets” Awareness Game October 21
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team will host its first annual "Night of Nets" game on Friday, October 21 when the Lions' square off against Nichols at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 8:00 pm.
The "Night of Nets" initiative benefits World Vision's efforts to provide insecticide-treated bed nets for someone affected by malaria in sub-Saharan Africa.
"Night of Nets" is a global campaign and partnership to help end malaria. Campuses and athletes are joining together to defeat one of the world's greatest health threats for millions of people across the globe.
The Eastern Nazarene men's soccer program will be selling T-shirts for $10 each at the game.
Eastern Nazarene head coach Mark Bell first became involved with the cause in 2010 at his previous institution, Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bell took a group from Cornerstone on a missions trip to Zambia in 2012 to distribute nets purchase with funds raised during a "Night of Nets" game.
