BOSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback in overtime at Emerson Wednesday evening.
The Lions drop to 5-7-2 on the year with the outcome while the host Lions improve to 4-7-0 overall.
The visitors claimed a 1-0 edge in the 18th minute as Tim Bortnick (Boscawen, N.H.) buried his first collegiate goal. The rookie collected a loose ball at the top of the box and rifled a right-footed shot into the back of the net.
Eastern Nazarene fired four shots in the first half while the home team attempted seven.
Emerson equalized in the 54th minute to pull even, 1-1. Tyler Yassky netted his second tally of the season with a long-distance effort.
The guests registered eight shots through regulation while the hosts produced 17 tries.
Emerson scored the golden goal in the first overtime period to clinch its second consecutive victory. Paul Bou Aziz bagged his second marker of the fall in the 97th minute.
Senior Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) made nine saves in net for Eastern Nazarene on the night.
