QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Endicott Tuesday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Lions fall to 5-4-2 on the year and 1-2-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the result. The Gulls improve to 6-3-2 overall and 3-1-0 in league play with the win.
The visitors snagged a 1-0 edge in the 12th minute as Diego Maillo poked in his third goal of the season.
Endicott doubled its lead to 2-0 in the 18th minute. Evan Couthot headed in his fourth tally of the fall off of a free kick delivery by Dario Neukom.
The home side registered three shots in the first 45 minutes of play while the Gulls produced nine chances.
Endicott manufactured a goal in the 59th minute to widen the gap to 3-0. Couthot connected on a right-footed volley from the right side of the penalty box, burying his fifth marker of the year and second of the game.
The Gulls tacked on their fourth score of the match in the 77th minute. Ryan Cohane found the back of the net for his first goal of the season, heading home a free kick service off the boot of Jesse Martinez.
Eastern Nazarene nearly got on the scoreboard in the 84th minute but David Eddings' (Endicott, N.Y.) header effort ricocheted off the crossbar.
The Lions fired six shots in the contest while Endicott finished with 15 attempts. Elly Buford (Atlanta, Ga.), Jacob Mason (Southport, England), and Eddings paced the squad with a pair of shots each.
Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) notched five saves in net for the hosts. Nick Weinstein went untested between the sticks to pick up the clean sheet for the visitors.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to the pitch October 8 to host Gordon.
