QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback to Colby-Sawyer in non-conference action at Veterans Memorial Stadium Wednesday evening.
The Lions sink to 2-2-0 on the year while the Chargers improve to 2-1-0 overall.
The guests grabbed a 1-0 edge in the 10th minute. Rick Prindiville headed home a corner kick delivery off the boot of Jake Sykes.
Colby-Sawyer doubled its lead in the 24th minute, 2-0. Denali Sexton connected on a long-range volley effort from outside the penalty box for his fifth tally of the fall.
Eastern Nazarene recorded three shots in the opening half while the Chargers attempted 12.
In the 56th minute, the visitors added their third score of the game to widen the gap to 3-0. Andrew Clothier drilled a direct free kick into the back of the cage for his first marker of the season.
The Lions finished with seven shots on the night while Colby-Sawyer fired 18 shots. The Chargers also owned a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks earned.
Junior Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) paced the home side with a pair of attempts.
Senior Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) turned aside three shots between the pipes as he made his fourth start of the season. Rookie Victor Mendoza (Cathedral, Calif.) made his second consecutive relief appearance.
