WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at former conference foe Regis Wednesday evening in non-league action.
The Lions fall to 6-4-0 on the season with the result while the Pride improves to 5-4-1 overall.
Eastern Nazarene got on the scoreboard just before halftime to seize a 1-0 lead. Connor Hudson-Bryant (Weymouth, Mass.) bagged his third goal of the season with 38 seconds remaining in the first half. Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) headed a corner kick service by Erick Pinaud (Norwalk, Conn.) on frame and Hudson-Bryant pounced on the rebound after the Regis goalkeeper parried Nelson's attempt.
The Lions fired seven shots in the opening 45 minutes of play while the Pride registered four.
The home team evened the match at 1-1 in the 51st minute. Don Gomez passed the ball backwards to the top of the penalty box to Amandio Ferreira who unleashed a long-distance strike to net his first goal of the season.
Regis tallied the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute on Renato Rosas' third marker of the year after Brendan Plasczynski set him up with a no-look pass.
The Pride chalked up an insurance goal in the 81st minute to extend its lead to 3-1. Rosas slotted a pass behind the Eastern Nazarene backline to setup a breakaway opportunity for Derek Triana who found the back of the net for his third score of the fall.
The Lions attempted 11 shots in the contest while Regis produced 15 shots.
Junior Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Md.) stopped two shots on the night for the visitors.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene resumes conference play at Endicott October 3.
