WESTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team endured a 2-0 setback on the road at former conference foe Regis Wednesday evening.
The Lions move to 4-6-0 on the season while the Pride improves to 3-7-0 overall with the decision.
The home team opened the scoring in the 24th minute as Devin Brady netted his first goal of the year. Collin Thurston slotted a pass to Brady waiting on the right side of the six-yard box for the tap in.
Regis boasted a 1-0 lead at the halftime intermission. The visitors attempted four shots in the first half while the Pride fired seven.
Regis doubled its advantage to 2-0 in the 57th minute on an own goal. A corner kick service by the Pride deflected off of an Eastern Nazarene defender and wound up in the back of the net.
The Lions finished the match with a narrow 12-11 margin in shots after outshooting the hosts 8-4 in the second stanza.
Scott Hansen (Middletown Springs, Vt.) recorded a team-high four shots in the contest while rookie Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) notched three.
Senior goalkeeper Jake Johnson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) made five saves between the posts for the guests. Greg Koutroukas stopped all four shots he faced in net for Regis.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene resumes league action October 4 at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
