Men’s Golf Concludes Fall with First-Place Finish at Emmanuel Saints Invitational
HINGHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team clinched its first-ever tournament title with a first-place finish at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational Thursday afternoon at South Shore Country Club in the final event of the fall season.
The Lions topped the team standings with a combined total of 339, edging Wentworth by seven strokes. Mitchell placed third with a team score of 368 while Emmanuel finished fourth with a 378.
Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) paced Eastern Nazarene with a 78 to finish second in the individual standings.
Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) carded an 82 to grab third place.
Senior Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) fired a season-low 89 while classmate Sam Danis (Uxbridge, Mass.) posted a mark of 90.
"I'm really happy that the seniors were able to end their season with a win! I really appreciate Connor and Sam's contributions to the program and will miss them," said third-year head coach Toni Kabilian.
