Men’s Golf Completes First Round of NECC Championships Saturday
WEST BOYLSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening round of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships Saturday afternoon at Wachusett Country Club.
The Lions recorded a team score of 350 to check in ahead of Dean in the team standings.
Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) fired an 80 to pace Eastern Nazarene and heads into the final round tied for seventh in the individual standings.
Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) carded an 81 while Sam Danis (Uxbridge, Mass.) posted a 91 and Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) finished with a 98.
Springfield leads the team competition with a score of 305. The Pride's Mike Strong paces the field with a first-round score of 73 while teammate Jake Raichle is one shot off the lead with a 74.
Mitchell is second after one round with a combined total of 321 while Elms is close behind with a 323.
The Lions wrap up the NECC Championship September 30.
