Men’s Golf Grabs Seventh at MCLA Invitational; Dietz Captures Top Individual Honors
PITTSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) claimed the individual title with a one-under-par 71 to help the Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the MCLA Invitational Thursday at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
The Lions combined for a team score of 334, besting the program-record by three strokes.
Dietz earned top individual honors for the second-consecutive event while his 71 sets a new program mark for lowest round.
Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) fired an 83 while Sam Danis (Uxbridge, Mass.) carded a career-best 84 and Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) shot a season-low 96.
Westfield State clinched the team title with a combined total of 309.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to the Westfield State Invitational September 19.
