PORTSMOUTH, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship Qualifier Thursday at Montaup Country Club.
The Lions posted a team score of 338 on the day, lowering last year's total by nearly 100 strokes.
Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) fired a career-low 77 while Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) also carded a 77 to lead Eastern Nazarene and tie for seventh in the individual standings.
Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) shot a season-best 84 to finish in the top-25.
Andrew Snodderly (Hagerstown, Md.) recorded a mark of 100 in his first outing of the fall and Sam Danis (Uxbridge, Mass.) turned in a score of 101.
Endicott compiled a team total of 300 to finish atop the team standings. By virtue of their first-place finish Thursday, the Gulls will host the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in the spring.
Western New England, Roger Williams, and Nichols also finished in the top four to earn spots at the CCC Championship event.
Wentworth just missed reaching the CCC Championship by three strokes while the University of New England came in five strokes ahead of the Lions.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will wrap up its fall slate October 11 at the Mitchell Invitational held at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, Connecticut.
