Men’s Golf Begins Season at Roger Williams Invitational Wednesday
PORTSMOUTH, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team teed off the 2016-17 campaign at the Roger Williams Invitational held at Montaup Country Club Wednesday afternoon. The Lions finished in ninth place in their first event of the year.
Eastern Nazarene combined to post a team score of 419 strokes.
Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) led the way with an 84 on the par-71 course and Andrew Snodderly (Hagerstown, Md.) carded a 99 on the day.
Rob Dukes (Spencer, Mass.) and Will Francis (Midlothian, Va.) also competed for the Lions in the meet.
Babson edged Rhode Island College by two strokes to capture the team title. Rhode Island College's Nathan Patterson and Babson's David Choi both fired marks of 71 to share the individual crown.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Suffolk in the program's its first-ever home match September 29 at South Shore Country Club.
