Golf Wraps Up Play at Rhode Island College Invitational Saturday
WARWICK, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene golf team closed out its first event of the spring season Saturday, completing round two at the Rhode Island College Invitational held at Valley Country Club.
Eastern Nazarene finished in 17th place in the team scoring.
Hunter Hill (North Wales, Pa.) paced the Lions with a combined score of 202. The rookie improved on his first round mark of 113, besting the score by 24 strokes to card an 89 in round two. Hill finished in 78th place in a tournament which featured 83 golfers.
Josh Whitney (Twinsburg, Ohio) shaved 20 shots off of his performance on Friday, posting a 102 Saturday.
Gregory Parenteau (Wolcott, Conn.) turned in a mark of 113 in round two, improving on his score of 129 in the opening round.
Montgomery Weaver (Carthage, N.Y.) also improved on day two, lowering his round one score by 10 strokes.
Brendan Koh of Tufts captured the individual title with a combined score of 154.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational at Allendale Country Club April 11-12.
