Garrett Crandell Earns NECC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Nod
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Senior Garrett Crandell (Bristol, Tenn.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday.
Crandell averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in a 2-1 week for the Lions.
Crandell poured in 25 points and grabbed seven boards as Eastern Nazarene topped Endicott 91-79 for its first win of the season. In an 83-69 loss to nationally-ranked WPI, he finished with 12 points and four boards. Crandell tallied 12 points and grabbed six rebounds as the LIons cruised past Framingham State 87-59.
On the week Crandell shot 51.4% from the floor, 28.6% from three-point range, and 69.2% from the free throw line.
This season, Crandell paces the squad with 14.5 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per contest while adding 2.7 assists per game. Crandell is the only player to start all six games for the Lions and sports a field-goal percentage of 44.3% to go with 33.3% shooting from long range.
Eastern Nazarene returns to action November 27 as it travels to the Tar Heel State to battle NCAA Division II Lees-McRae.
