Men's Basketball Announces 2017-18 Schedule
2017-18 ENC Men's Basketball Schedule
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team has released its 2017-18 season schedule, featuring 13 home games at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
Led by second-year head coach Scott Polsgrove, the Lions are seeking their sixth-consecutive trip to the Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs this season.
Eastern Nazarene returns nine veterans for the 2017-18 for the campaign with only one returning starter Josh Rice (Hanson, Mass). Rice started all 27 games a year ago and averaged 8.0 points per game while Noah Cheney (Bend, Ore.) and Andrew Mitchell (Campobello, S.C.) both saw action in 26 contests.
The Lions will tip-off the program's 62nd season of competition November 15 on the road against Wheelock.
After a road game at MIT, Eastern Nazarene will host Pine Manor on November 21 in the home-opener followed by a home game against New England College.
The Lions will finish the month of November on the road in Newport, Rhode Island versus Salve Regina in the first Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup of the season.
Eastern Nazarene resumes action December 2 at Wentworth, followed by a home game against Western New England and the first-ever contest against Dean at home.
The Lions are slated to travel to UMass-Boston on December 14 before finishing the month with a home game on the December 30 against non-conference foe Lyndon State.
Eastern Nazarene will start the new year with a home game on January 4 against Endicott in a rematch of last year's CCC semifinal. Next up, the Lions will travel to Gordon January 6.
After hosting the University of New England, the Lions will play at Roger Williams before returning to face Curry and Nichols at home.
Eastern Nazarene will venture to Western New England January 20 before returning to the Lahue Physical Education Center January 24 to battle Salve Regina and Wentworth. The Lions will wrap up January with road clash at the University of New England.
February will start with a showdown at Endicott before the last two home games of the season starting with Roger Williams on the February 7 and Gordon on the February 10.
The Lions will cap off the 2017-18 campaign with a pair of road tilts at Nichols February 13 and Curry February 17.
Eastern Nazarene finished last season with a 13-14 overall record to go with a 9-9 mark in the league. The Lions advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinals for the third time in five years.
