Two Men’s Basketball Student-Athletes Named to NABC Honors Court
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team landed a pair of student-athletes on the 2016-17 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court as senior Corey Doran (Fairfield, Calif.) and junior TJ Vazquez (Weymouth, Mass.) earned the distinction.
Doran recently graduated with his degree in Sports Management after earning All-Commonwealth Coast Conference third team honors this season. Vazquez, a rising senior, is a History and Business Administration major and also claimed a spot on the Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Team this year.
The Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team was one of 209 teams from across the country to earn the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2016-17 academic year.
In order to be eligible for the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet four areas of qualification:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
