Zach Tonello Bolsters Men’s Hoops' Incoming Class
QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene men’s basketball head coach has announced the addition of Zach Tonello to the program’s class of 2017.
QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene men's basketball head coach has announced the addition of Zach Tonello to the program's class of 2017.
Tonello is a 6-4 forward/guard out of Bourne, Mass. He spent his freshman and sophomore years at The New Testament Christian School before attending Silver Lake Regional High School as a junior and senior.
At The New Testament Christian School, Tonello was named the Team MVP twice while serving as a team captain both seasons and was a first-team all-star as a sophomore. In his rookie campaign, he averaged 28.3 points per game and 16.2 rebounds per contest. Tonello averaged 30.6 points per game and 18.6 boards per game for the Knights.
In his first season at Silver Lake Regional, Tonello posted 17.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per contest. As a senior, he was an all-league and all-scholastic selection and served as a team captain. Tonello finished his senior season as the top three-point shooter in the Patriot League while averaging 18.0 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game.
Tonello is also a member of the Cape Cod Crossover and Kingston Thunder club teams. His sister Abbie is a rising-senior on the Lions' women's basketball team.
This season, Eastern Nazarene went 18-9 on the year and reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament with an 11-7 league record. The Lions fell to top-seeded Curry 82-76 in the semifinal round.
