QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene men's basketball head coach Jim Aller has announced the addition of incoming junior Lequan Gomes for the 2013-14 season.
Gomes, a 6-foot-1 guard, hails from Fairfield, Calif. He helped lead Fairfield High School to back-to-back league championships in 2010 and 2011 and to the San Jaoquin sectional semifinals in 2011. Gomes was tabbed the MEL Conference Most Valuable Player and was named the Fairfield All-City Player of the Year.
After graduating from Fairfield, Gomes spent two years at Solano Community College where he averaged 11.5 points per game to lead the Falcons in scoring for the second straight year and was selected to the all-conference first team.
"Lequan brings a toughness and competitiveness that is impossible to fabricate or develop," said Fairfield head coach John Nagle. "He is relentless on both ends of the floor. As a person, he is loyal and diligent about upholding program pillars and expectations."
Eastern Nazarene went 18-9 on the year and reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament with an 11-7 league record. The Lions fell to top-seeded Curry 82-76 in the semifinal round.
