Jaylen Owens Collects CCC Rookie of the Week Honor
QUINCY, Mass.- Freshman Jaylen Owens (Johns Creek, Ga.) of the Eastern Nazarene men’s basketball team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.

Owens becomes the third ENC freshman to garner the award this season. Justin Wagner (Oklahoma City, Okla.) is a two-time honoree and Eric Lynch (Alpharetta, Ga.) has earned the accolade once this year.
Owens helped lead the Lions to a 2-1 record on the week as he averaged 13 points, 7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game.
The rookie poured in 13 points while adding seven assists and five boards in the Lions' 100-80 victory over first-place Curry. He scored 12 points and registered four assists in a 71-66 loss at Western New England.
Owens nearly posted a triple-double to close out the week as he recorded 14 points, 10 helpers and eight boards in a 72-58 win at Endicott.
The freshman guard shot 55% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc on the week.
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season sporting a 17-8 overall record with an 11-7 mark in league play. The Lions ended the regular season tied for third in the conference standings with Wentworth.
Due to a tie-breaker, Eastern Nazarene earned the #4 seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament. The Lions are making their first appearance in the playoffs since the 2003-04 season.
Eastern Nazarene will host fifth-seeded Salve Regina February 19 in the program's first home postseason contest since the 2000-01 campaign.
