Baseball Edged by Penn State-Berks, 10-9
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team fell to Penn State-Berks 10-9 Tuesday afternoon.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene chalked up three runs in the top of the second inning to capture a 3-0 lead.
- The Lions added one run in the third to stretch their advantage to 4-0 as Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) clobbered a lead-off homer.
- Eastern Nazarene generated four runs in the fourth frame to widen the margin to 8-0.
- The Lions tacked on a run in the fifth inning to push their lead to 9-0 as Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) belted a solo home run.
- Penn State-Berks got on the board with one run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to 9-1.
- The Nittany Lions plated one run in the sixth inning to narrow the gap to 9-2.
- Penn State-Berks exploded for six runs in the home half of the seventh to pull to within a run, 9-8.
- The Nittany Lions posted two runs in the eighth frame to jump ahead 10-9.

- Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) racked up three hits, two runs scored, and one RBI.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) tallied two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI.
- O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) notched two hits and scored one run.
- Brandon Mercado (Stoughton, Mass.) drove in two RBIs to go with one base knock and one run scored.
- Liam Bruskiewicz (Granite Springs, N.Y.) started on the bump and pitched seven innings while striking out five. Michael Monteforte (Wilmington, Mass.) made his collegiate pitching debut and threw one inning while fanning a pair of batters.
