WEYMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team saw its 14-game winning-streak halted Saturday afternoon, suffering a pair of 12-1 setbacks to Mitchell at Libby Field.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 1,Mitchell 12
Records: Lions (17-4, 1-1 NECC) | Mariners (15-3, 3-0 NECC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mitchell opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, plating one run to grab a 1-0 edge.
- The Mariners tacked on a run in the third to double their lead to 2-0.
- The visitors manufactured four runs in the fourth inning to stretch their advantage to 6-0.
- Mitchell racked up five runs in the fifth to push their lead to 11-0.
- Eastern Nazarene got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring once to trim the gap to 11-1. Brandon Guerrero (Boston, Mass.) scurried home from third on an infield hit by Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.).
- The Mariners chalked up a run in the seventh to regain an 11-run advantage, 12-1.

- Brandon Guerrero (Boston, Mass.) posted two hits and one run scored.
- Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) finished with a pair of base knocks.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) added one hit and one RBI.
- Spencer Boynton (Tampa, Fla.) tossed four innings and struck out five batters in his team-leading sixth start. - The Mariners produced four runs in the second to extend their advantage to 5-0.
- Eastern Nazarene tallied a run in the home half of the second frame to cut the deficit to 5-1. Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) roped a double to the gap in right-centerfield to drive in Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) from second base.
- The visitors erupted for seven runs in the sixth inning to widen the margin to 12-1.

- Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) registered two hits and one RBI.
- Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) landed two base knocks and scored one run.
- Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.), Brandon Guerrero (Boston, Mass.), and Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) each chipped in with one hit.
- Jon Tessier (Coronado, Calif.) made his fifth start of the season on the mound and threw 1.2 innings while fanning one batter. Kelvin Cortez (Corona, N.Y.) hurled 3.2 innings and recorded three strikeouts in his third outing of the year. Dale Beneway (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) worked one-third of an inning before O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) tossed 1.1 innings of relief.
