Baseball Sweeps Gordon, Extends Winning-Streak to Seven Games
WEYMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team ran its winning-streak to seven-straight contests with a pair of victories over Gordon Saturday afternoon at Libby Field. The Lions prevailed 4-2 in game one before coasting to an 8-1 win in the nightcap.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 4, Gordon 2
Records: Lions (9-3) | Fighting Scots (2-10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon scored twice in the top of the first inning to capture a 2-0 lead.
- Eastern Nazarene responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to level the contest at 2-2. Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) launched his second home run of the spring to lead off the inning. Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) crossed the dish on an RBI groundout by Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.).
- The Lions manufactured one run in the fourth to seize a 3-2 edge. Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) motored home after swiping third base.
- The hosts tacked on a run in the sixth inning to double their advantage to 4-2. Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) roped a two-out double to left-centerfield to drive in Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) all the way from first base.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eastern Nazarene produced three runs in the bottom of the first to establish a 3-0 advantage. Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) raked a double down the right field line to knock in Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.). Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) followed with a double to plate Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) from second.
- The Lions picked up a run in the third to extend their lead to 4-0. Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) crossed the dish as Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) reached on a defensive error.
- The home side chalked up a pair of runs in the fifth inning to stretch the gap to 6-0. Jaime Roldan (Boston, Mass.) drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Tyler Bean (Wellington, Fla.) from third base. Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) scurried home as Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) reached on a fielder's choice.
- Eastern Nazarene generated two runs in the sixth to widen the margin to 8-0. Tyler Bean (Wellington, Fla.) scored as Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) reached first base on an error. Shane McNamara (Londonderry, N.H.) scampered home from third base on a wild pitch, scoring for the third time in the game.
- Gordon got on the board in the top of the seventh inning, scoring once to trim the deficit to 8-1.

- Morgan Weast (Cincinnati, Ohio) improved to 4-1 on the mound, throwing six innings while striking out 11 batters. Dale Beneway (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) worked one inning of relief and fanned one batter in his fifth outing of the year.
