Baseball Blanked 4-0 at Endicott Thursday
BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team dropped a 4-0 decision at Endicott Thursday afternoon.
The Lions fall to 9-6 on the year with the loss while the Gulls improve to 8-6 overall with the win.
Zachary Carmody (Babylon, N.Y.) landed a pair of hits to lead the visitors. Connor Simpson (Haverhill, Mass.) chipped in with a base knock and one stolen base. Steven Pesce (Harrison, N.Y.) and Hunter Leroux-Porter (Greenland, N.H.) both added hits in the contest.
The home team tallied two runs in the third to claim a 2-0 lead. Kyle Brennan roped a double to left-centerfield to drive in Dan Cacciola. Nickolas Perkins followed with a triple down the right field line to plate Brennan.
Endicott tacked on a run in the fifth inning to widen the gap to 3-0. Perkins rolled a base knock through the right side of the infield to knock in Matt Bald from third base.
The Gulls added a run in the sixth to stretch their advantage to 4-0. With the bases full, Perkins drew a walk to score Christian Allaire.
Briley Seiter (Bellevue, Ky.) pitched 5.1 innings and finished with three strikeouts in his third start of the spring. Ryan Spina (Lake Grove, N.Y.) tossed 2.2 scoreless frames and fanned one batter in his second relief appearance.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene opens NECC competition against Lesley at Adams Field March 30.
