BRISTOL, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Roger Williams Saturday afternoon, falling 10-0 and 6-1.
The Lions sink to 5-12 on the year and 1-7 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Hawks improve to 8-15 overall and 3-5 in league action.
Devin Haberstumpf (Forest Hills, N.Y.) paced the visitors with two hits on the day. Zachary Carmody (Babylon, N.Y.) notched a base knock and swiped a base while Nick Story (Gilbert, Ariz.) drove in one RBI.
The home team captured game one 10-0 with offensive outbursts in the third and fourth frames.
Roger Williams generated six runs in the third and scored four times in the fourth.
Alex Way (Syracuse, N.Y.) started on the mound and hurled three innings while striking out two. Daniel Rivera (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished with one strikeout in three innings of relief action.
In game two, Eastern Nazarene was held to just four hits while Roger Williams racked up 10 base knocks to earn a 6-1 win.
The Lions plated a run in the top of the first to grab a 1-0 edge.
The Hawks jumped ahead 2-1 with a pair of runs in the fourth before tacking on insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Xavier Faria (Assonet, Mass.) pitched 4.2 innings and recorded two strikeouts in his first start of the spring. Briley Seiter (Bellevue, Ky.) tossed 1.1 innings of relief and fanned a pair.
