Janet (Ranstrom) Calhoun (80) competed as an ENC varsity athlete in volleyball and basketball during her student years (1976 – 1980), graduating with a career volleyball playing record of 102-23 (82%). In 1978, she helped lead the basketball team to a win in the Massachusetts Intercollegiate Championship over University of Lowell. She and her teammates were Massachusetts State Champions in 1979, winning the EAIAW Regionals the same year. After graduating with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, Calhoun was the assistant ENC volleyball coach for 12 years (1980-1991) and was head volleyball coach for seven years (1992 -1998). She was a vital part of coaching or playing in 505 wins during her volleyball career. Calhoun also was the ENC head softball coach for three years (1994-1998).
