Bio

Dr. Nancy Detwiler recently celebrated over 50 years of service at ENC’s athletics department, over 21 years as the athletic director.

Detwiler’s career features a volleyball record of 505-179 (.738 winning percentage), the highest of any coach in ENC history. During her tenure as head coach, Detwiler led her team to the NAIA National tournament on six separate occasions. With her NAIA Hall of Fame induction, Detwiler became just the fifth volleyball coach to be inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in the organization’s history.

She has worn several hats during her time at ENC. She spent 13 season as the head women’s basketball coach and two years as the tennis coach. In her years with the basketball team, she accumulated 76 wins over nine seasons on record. Her other roles within the Athletic department have included professor of Movement Arts, chair of Movement Arts and division chair of Social Science.

She current serves as the director of Athletics as well as the chair of the Movement Arts department, where she continues to teach courses despite her administrative workload.

She lives locally with her husband David. They have two children, Julie and Amy and one grandson Evan.
