Eastern Nazarene Places 26 Student-Athletes on Spring Academic All-CCC Team
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene College garnered 26 Spring Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honorees, as announced by the league office.
A total of 384 student-athletes from the 10 member institutions were recognized. The Academic All-Conference honor rewards varsity student-athletes who attain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
The Lions’ baseball program led the way with eight honorees. The women’s basketball team placed five student-athletes on the Academic All-CCC team while the men’s golf squad boasted four. The men’s basketball, softball and men’s tennis teams each had three student-athletes recognized.
Among the honorees were All-Commonwealth Coast Conference selections Jaylen Owens (Johns Creek, Ga.) of the men’s basketball team and Rocco Martinelli (Panama City, Panama) of the baseball squad.
Seniors Abigail Moore (Sheridan, Calif.) of the softball program and men’s tennis’ Nick Thompson (York, Pa.) each picked up their third career Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference nod.
Eastern Nazarene landed a total of 58 student-athletes on the Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference teams during the 2013-14 academic year after featuring 32 student-athletes on the Fall Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference squad.
