Eastern Nazarene Places 10 Student-Athletes on GNAC All-Academic List
WINTHROP, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene College's men's and women's tennis teams combined to collect 10 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference selections as the league office announced the 2018-19 Academic All-Conference Team. With a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher, a total of 1,030 student-athletes were named to the 2018-19 GNAC Academic All-Conference Team.
The GNAC champion men's tennis program featured eight honorees while the women's tennis squad earned a pair of nods.
Among the honorees were four All-GNAC performers. Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) was tabbed the GNAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year and earned a pair of All-GNAC first team accolades while Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) was selected to the All-GNAC first team in singles and doubles. On the women's side, Adele Duval (Redding, Calif.) and Emily Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) both picked up All-GNAC honors in singles and doubles in the fall.
Santiago Camero (Valencia, Venezuela), Corey Davis (Derby, Vt.), Alberto Escobar (Sevilla, Spain), Jesus Lucart (Wylie, Texas), Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.), and Laurent Ruttkowski (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany) were also recognized for their academic success.
